Murphy Design is a small graphic design firm located in Center City Philadelphia. For more than 25 years, Rosemary Murphy has been continuously working with small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, colleges, universities and individuals. She designs logos, brand identity projects, web sites, publications, financial communications, special event invitations, book covers, magazines, promotional materials and social media strategy. She has lived and worked in Philadelphia since 1981 and has owned and operated Murphy Design since 1985.
Rosemary’s work can be seen in the materials and messages of businesses like GF Data Resources—a private equity resource, Freedom Systems—a software company, The ARAMARK Corporation as well as organizations like The Jefferson Foundation and Friends Journal.
Rosemary serves as adjunct faculty at Drexel University and Moore College of Art. She teaches typography, digital image making, brand identity, book design and serves as a senior thesis advisor. Rosemary is a past president of AIGA Philadellphia Chapter and named 2012 AIGA Philadelphia Fellow.
Murphy Design is registered as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise by the City of Philadelphia.
A Special Award
The Fellow program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community as well as in their local AIGA chapter.
The Philadelphia Design Community celebrated Rosemary's accomplishments and contributions with a cocktail party and reception at The World Cafe Live on June 6, 2012. Rosemary’s commitment to the American Institute of Graphic Design can be seen through her service chairing the Poetry in Motion project, initiating a new Business Breakfast Series and serving as Philadelphia Chapter Executive Board for three years, two as president. About Rosemary Murphy:
Rosemary received a BFA in Graphic Design at University of the Arts in 1981 and earned a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005, where she completed research on Photojournalism Report from the Field: Words, Images and Ethics Are Part of the Picture.
Outside of her design work, Rosemary is 3x marathon finisher and is passionate about competitive outrigger canoe and dragon boat racing. She enjoys racing locally, nationally and internationally.
